Sleepless in Las Vegas

Well, I’m going on 48 hours with only 8 hours of sleep. I’m back on steroids again for my weird systemic skin rash which has now made it’s home on my forehead. No where else, just my forehead. Luck - I has it. So anyway, whatever dose I’m on for my prednisone, it causes insomnia to the extreme. Which is really weird for me, because I usually sleep about 10 hours a night. It also kills my appetite which is not cool. But not needing to eat or sleep is kinda like a superpower.

At least I’m using this to my advantage as much as I can. I’m going to be writing for my good friend’s fan blog, Fandomania.com. I’ll be covering cosplay, anime, video games, and the like. My first little article is up now, so go check it out! I’m always open to suggestion for stories and things you guys want to hear about. I have some cool interviews lined up already so be sure to bookmark Fandomania if you haven’t already.

Also I got some modeling photos from a while back, so definitely check those out as well. They’re pretty fancy, and from a time when my forehead was not covered in death!

I’m slowly but surely working on my next costume. I’m still unsure just how well this armor is going to turn out, but I should know soon. I can’t wait until months from now when these costumes will be done! My dream costume will be complete, and then I can quit! Ha! (Not really, that would be stupid.)

I hope everyone has a lovely Hallows Eve. I don’t know what I’m doing, as it’s usually my night away from costuming. smile

And now, a picture of me from the playground at the Springs Preserve.

Personalized

Finally, the tour of the shoes has ended. After going from China to Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Hodgkin, IL, and Commerce City, CO, my shoes finally arrived here in Vegas today.

And on a more interesting note (at least to you) I’ve posted some of the shots from the Slayers Cosmode 24 shoot. Martina is such a spaz, I love her.

Guess how old I am?

If you were the nurse who I saw on Monday, you would have said “12 or 14”, which is what she thought I was before telling her my actual age. My birthday was on the 12th, and it seems the older I get, the younger I look to other people. Pretty cool, right?

My birthday, in fact, was pretty awful. I’ve had some sort of systemic skin issue since the beginning of the month where I’ve started randomly breaking out in hives on my arms, leg, neck, and face. I’ve seen three doctors now, and none of them are even willing to find out what it is and instead just keep prescribing me drugs. Best part is that it’s contagious as well, so Rob got it too, but not as bad as me thankfully. Anyway, so I had to not only cancel the photoshoot I had planned for my birthday in LA, but also had to cancel my trip entirely and stay quarantined in the house. Luckily, it seems to be getting a bit better and I’m not wanting to rip off my skin from itchiness anymore.

Also, for my birthday present to myself, I decided it was time to get some new chucks since my old ones are dead. I haven’t bought any new clothes or anything in a long while so I figured I was due for something new. I got some custom designed converse sneakers from Converse.com. I ordered them in September and figured they would take a while. Right now it says they are scheduled to get here on Friday. But the best part of this has been tracking the package. So far it has gone from China, to Louisville, KY, to Indianapolis, IN, to Hodgkin, IL. I can’t wait to see where it will go next! My shoes will have traveled the world before even being on my feet.

Ok, lastly I finally got a glimpse of Cosmode 24, which will be for sale at Cosworx shortly. In it is a photoshoot of Julia and I in our Slayers costumes. There’s also a shot of myself, Ayaka, Jacky, and Adella from the TFT event in Japan this past August. I should have the actual Slayers pictures soon so I’ll be updating with those shortly.

I want to meet the Loch Ness Monster.

A second set of photos by the very talented Nathan Teutli is now up, so check them out.

Can you believe it’s October already? My birthday is looming! I’m going to be an old hag! I think whenever I’m feeling old, I should just take a trip to the airport (like I’m not there enough already) because they always seem to talk to me like I’m 8 years old, ask me my age, or talk to Rob like he’s my dad. Which is funny because he looks like he’s in his 20’s. Maybe they think he’s my older brother?
