Hi! I'm Ginny McQueen and this is my website.
I'm a cosplayer (someone who dresses up as characters from anime, video games, sci-fi, etc.) and all-around geek. Here you'll find my costumes, modeling, travel blogs, and links to various shenanigans on the web.
Add me on your networking site of choice, and keep up with my (very nerdy) life! <3
With fronds like these, well, who needs anemones?

Got back from Anime Expo a couple days ago. Had a great time meeting the cosplayers that came in for the Cosplay.com costume contest. Can’t wait for next year!
So if you know me at all, you know I love turtles. I always have since I was a child. So it’s not a shock that my charity of choice is the Sea Turtle Conservancy. I’ve had great success auctioning off signed prints and things for them before, and now I’m going a bit bigger. You can bid on a 10 foot tall banner of me. It features me in my succubus costume. If it were me, I’d buy it just to draw silly faces on it. But that’s me. Thanks guys!
Anarchy

I know, I should be blogging. So much has been going on! Last weekend was Cyphan (which was super-fun), but I have yet to get many photos from anyone. So until then I’ll report on last, last, last weekend when I went on the Sons of Anarchy set.
My good friend Matt works for the show, and was nice enough to bring Rob and I on set during filming. And as you know, I have this thing with going to where my favorite shows are filmed. (see: Scrubs, Angel, Lost)We got to run around in the clubhouse and St. Thomas set and talked to some of the cast and crew. I even got some headphones and got to watch them film a scene including Charlie Hunnam and Ron Pearlman. And I guess it’s good I’m posting about this now since I just finished season two. No spoilers since no one knows who my favorite of the crew is, but OMG WHY!?!
Anyway, here’s a couple photos. It’s all crazy red-eye because the house lights weren’t on, so the only light was from the flash. I’m going to blame the lighting on why I look psychotic, but really, I always look kind of crazy. Also since switching OS on my computer, I don’t have photoshop. So these were crudely re-sized.

Also, I just noticed I managed to wear almost the same outfit at Cyphan on Saturday as I did in these photos. LOL! I swear I own more than one pair of pants. I have at least 2 or 3.
Every little bit counts

Just a quick announcement. At Cyphan this weekend, I’ll be taking donations for Sea Turtle Conservancy. So if you want a signed photo or something, please try to spare a bit for the sea turtles. They need it now more than ever. Thanks, and hopefully I’ll see you there!

So next weekend is Cyphan where I’ll be a guest. I’ll also be bringing a new costume with me - Emma Frost! I’m hoping I can pull it off! She’s so iconic, and I always like doing costumes that the fiance approves of. Plus I really wanted to do a version that wasn’t the lingerie thing. So hopefully I’ll see some of you at the convention. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty rad party.
I’ll have another post coming up about my weekend. If you follow my Twitter you’ll know what I was up to.
Science is real!

Back from Fanime and had a great time. I was there for work on behalf of Cosplay.com since we were a sponsor of all the costume contests going on. Everyone was really nice and word from the contestants of the contest was that the masquerade was run very well backstage as well. So congrats to them for running a successful event! I saw some beautiful costumes in both the masq and the WCS competition.
I also got to hang with some friends including my old friend Ed who helps to run the WCS. We were glad to see him again and hopefully we’ll have more hang-out time in Japan this year.

I have hit the ground running with work since I got back. Business, my own projects, everything. It feels good if not tiring. Wedding planning has kind of been kicked to the wayside for a bit with all the stuff going on, but I figure I’ve got my dress so that’s all that really matters.
I have so many costumes ready to shoot for photos, so hopefully I’ll have some new stuff for you guys to see soon. I also am gearing up for Cyphan and trying to figure out what costumes to bring. I’ll definitely have Emma Frost with me, but I’m not sure what else.
Well, I’ve got tons of work to get done today. I hope most of you are less stressed than I am! Oh, you should all go buy They Might Be Giant’s new album Here Comes Science. It’s awesome!
