How do you become a cosplay model?

Firstly, there are very few instances in which you will get paid to be in a costume. And chances are you aren't going to get paid any more than the costume took you to make (if you did make it). I'm a cosplayer who also does some modeling gigs in her spare time. I've worked some promotional gigs and such in costume, but most of my work doesn't involve cosplay. There are plenty of websites out there that can tell you how to get started in different types of modeling.

How do you become a convention guest?

Most people know who I am because of how long I've been in the hobby. I've been cosplaying since 1998, and thusly have had my name out there for a long time. I have a wealth of experience in working with and for conventions, making costumes, traveling, modeling, and getting to know the hobby inside and out. It's simply the right amount of these different experiences that conventions look for.

How do you stay in shape/lose weight?

I've never had to worry about loosing weight. I actually have to worry about keeping it. I just naturally have good muscle tone and don't gain fat very easily. I do hike, ride my bike, or lift weights when I can (which ends up being pretty rarely). But I'm not the person to ask about working out or eating healthy.

Can you make me a costume/can I buy your costumes?

No, and no. They aren't for sale and I don't have time to make them for anyone but me. Sorry!

You don't have any recent awards listed, why is that?

I stopped competing a long while back. I'm not a competitive person at all, and it stopped being fun for me. Also since I'm now working for cosplay.com, it's a bit of a conflict of interests. I'd much rather be helping to judge and organize things for others.

Will you come to ______ convention?

Well, I'd love to. Unfortunately I can only attend conventions if my work brings me there or if I am invited as a guest and it fits into my schedule. I love attending conventions to hold panels and get to meet new people all over the globe. So any time I can, I definitely will!

Do you make your costumes or buy them?

Unless otherwise stated, I make all my costumes myself.
