Ginny McQueen - Cosplay Girl * Actress * Model* Gamer * Costumer

Hi! I'm Ginny McQueen and this is my website.

I'm a cosplayer (someone who dresses up as characters from anime, video games, sci-fi, etc.) and all-around geek. Here you'll find my costumes, modeling, travel blogs, and links to various shenanigans on the web.

Add me on your networking site of choice, and keep up with my (very nerdy) life! <3

GINNY'S BLOG

September 14, 2009 - You won’t find love in a hole.

It looks like it’s going to be a very busy week for me, so I wanted to squeeze in a post before it hits. I have lots of work to get done this week, and then this coming weekend I’ll be in California for a photoshoot and concert. I get to see The Twilight Sad and Frightened Rabbit! I’ve seen Twilight Sad once before (they are one of my favorite bands) and can’t wait to see them again. Both bands are amazing, so definitely check them out if you can.

It’s a month before my birthday, which means the thoughts of how old and decrepit I am are harder to ignore. It doesn’t matter how many times a day you are mistaken for a 16 year old, you’re still getting closer to death!

Most of my planned costuming is done for the year. Although, I always expect some new project to pop up and eat my time. I’m actually beginning work on some non-cosplay related things that I’m really excited to do. I just don’t want to mention it and then have it not work out and I’ll be totally bummed.

If you want any free signed prints or magnets from me, be sure to follow my Twitter and add my group on Facebook. Those are the two places I’m holding give-aways. I can’t believe how happy some people are from just winning something from me. I think my fans are really the sweetest people on the planet. Here is what they look like:

I also added some photos of my deck crew outfit from Battlestar Galactica that I wore on Saturday at Dragon*con. Click here to see. I only got the jumpsuit, my friend JD and his awesome BSG friends got the rest done for me. Thank goodness, since I wouldn’t have had time otherwise with the crazy dress I was working on. So thank you again, guys! I loved wearing it! I especially liked having my only make-up be dirt on my face.

Oh, and if you wanna see something really funny, check out this photo from Dragon*con. smile

September 08, 2009 - Dragon*con is over again!

Wow, Dragon*con is over already! It went by really fast. I had such a great time with my friends. Also a big thank you to Michael Hogan and Gareth David-Lloyd for being super-nice and allowing me to hug you.

Photos of my Dazzler costume are now up, so take a look. I haven’t done a proper photoshoot yet, but hopefully soon.

I’ll be updating through the week with photos, so be sure to check back. I’ll also be having more Twitter and Facebook contests to win some stuff, so be sure to add me there.

Here are some random shots from the con including Rob in his Doctor Who outfit. More photos and costumes to come later!

August 28, 2009 - Interum

Right now I’m working my butt off on my Dragon*con costumes! But, I remembered last night that I had a couple of modeling photos I hadn’t posted on the website. I’ve had to completely halt my modeling stuff because I’ve been so busy with work and travel the past few months. Once Dragon*con is over, things may chill out enough for me to go back to it, but for now I’m still too swamped! Anyway, they are here. I will have an update sometime in October about a calendar I was hired for back in April. I’ll probably have some copies to sell/give away.

Wish me luck on my D*C costumes! And if you are going, be sure to say hi if you see me! And if you aren’t, be sure to keep up with my Twitter and Facebook.

August 24, 2009 - The bane of fruits and veg.

On Friday, our good friend Paolo was out here in Vegas. He really likes guns, as I am noticing that most of our foreign friends do. And since Rob has some guns we decided to take them into the desert and shot at random fruits and vegetables. I’ve never shot a gun before and I don’t really like guns. But they wanted me to try so I did. Apparently I am a damn good shot, and you should fear me. Pictured below is my first shot at an innocent squash. Rob also made a watermelon explode it’s guts all over with the shot gun. Video coming later. Photos by Paolo.

August 13, 2009 - Lummy

New costume - Lum from Urusei Yatsura. I’ve been wanting to do more old-school stuff and this was a silly, easy one to do.

Now, I am going to be working my butt off until Dragon*con. Hopefully my jet lag will subside by then! I woke up at 4am this morning. That does not make me happy. rasberry
