February 16, 2009 - How to save a life.

Well, I was supposed to be at Gallifrey One in LA for most of my Saturday. But my phone died and I couldn’t get a hold of people so that kinda flopped. However I did still have a great time. I got to see my friend Nate from Philly and force him to eat Japanese curry. I hung out with my most favorite twins and had nerdy Buffy/Angel/BSG discussions. And then Rob and I visited both the hotel/apt building used in Angel as the exterior for the Hyperion (OMG I want to live there), and also to the hospital used for Sacred Heart in Scrubs. The security guard at the hospital was nice enough to let us back to take pictures. So here’s some lame photos of me in very nerdy places.

February 09, 2009 - Messy

The other day I was at the gym, and while I stood there lifting weights in my NERV t-shirt with They Might Be Giants playing on my I-Pod I wondered just how much of a geek I truly am. The answer is A LOT!


I’ll be in LA this weekend for the Dr. Who convention, as well as seeing some friends. I just got an email today from one of my friends in Philly that’s going to be out there this weekend as well which is super-cool!


I’ve been in the zone lately with costumes. We are doing photos next week so expect some interesting updates instead of just my random babble. Right now my sewing room looks like a fabric-bomb went off. I get very messy when I’m sewing.

February 01, 2009 - Are we human, or are we… oh nevermind.

So, yes. Anyone who hasn’t guessed it, that wig I posted about last time was for my Cat Girl Nuku Nuku costume. I’m actually making 2 of her outfits. One is done, but I’ve been waiting forever on my shoes. Sometimes ebay sellers are not very good about sending stuff in a timely manner. I’ve already been waiting for over a week. So as soon as I do have said shoes, I’ll hopefully get a photoshoot done. I’m already halfway done on my next costume. I was itching to make an enormous poofy dress. I’m like a machine lately! Vagrant Story costumes are going slowly, but I’m glad to be taking my time with them.

The other day was the big ONE YEAR anniversary for me and Rob! One whole year! Does anyone else feel like the past year went really fast?

I’ll have some big updates coming soon, including more info on All-con and some other really awesome stuff that’s happening. Like, super-duper awesome. Right now I should get some sleep.

Oh, and here’s a pic of me over at the water near Hoover Dam. We went exploring a bit, but I hadn’t slept the night before so I look kinda off. LOL.

January 12, 2009 - Red-Handed

Weekend was superfun with Jim and Zach. Had on-strip hilarity. Photoshoot went awesome.

I rarely post in-progress pics because I don’t think anyone cares, and I never really think to. But I’m finally done having “berry"-colored hands! So here’s a pic of my wig, which is an Ivy, Wisp, and extensions from Cosworx all in violet that were hand colored with sharpie. (I tried ordering some wigs online from ebay and stuff so I wouldn’t have to color it, but every time I was told they were out of stock. So I had to do it myself!) The color isn’t picked up very well in the bathroom lighting, but you get the idea. I just have a little more styling to do. 10 points to whoever can name the character.

January 09, 2009 - I come from the 70’s

First update of 2009!

Firstly, new costume of Yuki from Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers). Bodysuits and guns again, I can’t be stopped. Kyle was nice enough to take some pictures for me even though it was SO COLD. Shooting at night in January just isn’t the best idea. So if I look a bit uncomfy in those pictures, it’s because I was concentrating on trying not to shiver so much I would blur the photos. Also I can’t walk in heels very well, they hurt my feet. Thank goodness my next costume involves sneakers!

Also I was just invited to be a guest All-Con in Texas, so that should be fun! I haven’t been to Texas in a long while. I’ll have more updates about that, I just found out yesterday.

I hope everyone’s year is going okay so far. Stay warm, spring will be here soon! (Or at least i keep telling myself that.) This weekend I’ll be hanging out with Stripper Vash and Voltz. Wacky fun will ensue, I’m sure.
