Ginny McQueen - Cosplay Girl * Model * Gamer * Costumer

Hi! I'm Ginny McQueen and this is my website.

I'm a cosplayer (someone who dresses up as characters from anime, video games, sci-fi, etc.) and all-around geek. Here you'll find my costumes, modeling, travel blogs, and links to various shenanigans on the web.

Add me on your networking site of choice, and keep up with my (very nerdy) life! <3

Working for the weekend

January 11, 2010

Except my weekend is also work! But that’s okay because I love my work. It’s worth the weekend hours. Having a job you like with people you like is one of the keys to happiness.

But on a non-work-related note, here are some Nuku Nuku Bikini photos that Kyle took in Chile on the beach. It was really cold, not beach weather at all. So if I look a little cold, that’s why.

Nothing else to really report on. I may have some news about my health in a week or so. It’s just getting wackier by the minute. I’ll try to keep you all posted on my shenanigans. <3

Aloha, Aloha

January 07, 2010

I finally got to posting some photos from my trip to Hawaii. Follow this link to see. I already miss the weather there. It’s so cold here in the desert! I also miss all the sea turtles. I even got a turtle tattoo while I was there. I’ll post a photo of it once it’s healed. Aloha!

And then this one time I went to Chile…

January 02, 2010

As some of you know, a couple weeks ago I was in Chile for a week to be a guest at a convention in Santiago. The fans and cosplayers were awesome and I wish we were given more time to hang out with everyone. And I don’t know how you guys survive in costume with no air conditioning. I was sweating to death! You are all much stronger than me.

I was getting over being sick that week, and I did end up having my trip spoiled a bit because I had something stolen from me the first day of the convention. I wish I could have been in better spirits/health.

Here are a few photos I stole from Ariel who is one of the photographers in Chile. I didn’t get an photos on my camera from the convention. And that is my buddy Jia who was a guest with me. She is also more of a trooper than I am. She does not seem to be affected by insane heat and humidity while wearing costumes and wigs.

On our way back to the US, we had a 10 hour stop in Panama, so we took a tour and got to see the Panama Canal. That was pretty cool.  What was not cool was getting home at 5:30am and having to be back at the airport at 8:30am to leave for Hawaii. (Not that going to Hawaii is a bad thing!) My next post will be my vacation report from Hawaii.

And I will have a costume update soon because I made Nuku Nuku’s bathing suit so Kyle could shoot it on the beach in Chile. So as soon as I have those I’ll post them!

Angles

December 31, 2009

I know I have a ton to write up and post about. But first I wanted to show you something. In photography, angles are very important. I know this, but I never thought I would see a photo in which I looked fat. I thought I was just too skinny for that. But I was wrong! Here are two photos from my friends’ wedding. (I blocked out everyone else because I didn’t think they’d want to be posted on my website.) So as you can see in the first photo, I somehow have gained 30 lbs in my arm, and also some in my face/neck area. And in the very next shot, it’s gone!

So as you can see, even a 100-pound-girl can look pretty gross in a photo if taken improperly. Everyone is human and can have bad photos taken of them!

Well, in a few hours I’m going to the doctor’s office to get two MRIs. What a way to spend New Years Eve! Next up I should have my report from Chile done. In the meantime Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great year and that 2010 is even better! (And here is a non-bad-angle photo from the wedding. smile)

Warm in Chile

December 19, 2009

Hey everyone! I have been in Chile since Monday. Today is the first day of the convention where I’m a guest. I am happy to be warm because I was getting over being sick this whole week. I’m finally feeling better in that regard. After we leave Chile, I’m going right home and then immediately to the airport again to go to Hawaii for Christmas. So no winter for me for a couple more weeks. Anyway, I’ll update again from Hawaii. <3
